This is a fantastic and cool, tiny little restaurant right across Brandermill. No need to go North of the RiVA. A delightful husband and wife team, with their son as the server. I had some fantastic sushi, and my wife opted for the Ramen. We also shared some dumplings. ALL were amazingly fresh and delicious.
We will return and work our way through their menu.
(I think the 1 & 2 star reviews are Bull SPit. Take them with a grain of salt gang. And NO, I'm not affiliated with the restaurant.
There is a 1 star, apparently from a 12 year old, has 5 friends, 5 reviews, and hides behind a video game character profile pic, Then a 2 star from someone who really needs to stick to a fast food dollar menu, and who I'd like to ask: "Were there other people in this usually packed 4 table place, or is it all about you?", plus look at their review star distribution, and a disappointing one from a Yelp Elite who says "great food and great menu," but turns in 1 star. (The food being great is at least worth 3 stars), who likely exaggerated on wait times, and seems the kind of person that wants the supermarket and amusement park lines to split for him like Moses and the Red Sea. THIS IS A HUSBAND AND WIFE TEAM TRYING TO MAKE IT. He is what's wrong with Yelp. Kind of guy in my business that shows up for car service on a slammed day, made NO appointment, and expects to be taken care of immediately). -

Cool, divey little spot for amazing sushi. In fact, we came here for sushi but I was quite impressed with the rest of the menu as well, to include my obsession: Chinese chicken salad and crabcakes. We arrived around 7pm on a Friday evening and while it was completely full, the wait was only about 10-15 min. Fantastic, friendly service.
Simple but decent wine list for my mom and I and pink lemmy and Sierra Mist for the kids. We placed orders for 4 sushi rolls which she informed us would be a wait so we ordered the octopus and shrimp appetizers as well. I think there are 2 main components to sushi: freshness and creativity. It's no small task to have fresh, abundant sashimi-grade fish, but to marry that with creative and interesting rolls is what adds that extra flair.
Point being, if you are a serious, sushi goer I would probably pass on Sushi King down the street, where they funnel puny sushi rolls off an assembly line into your mouth buffet-style. Come here, it's worth the wait and the fuss. -

Food was very good and fresh. Service was excellent. Only complaint was the temperature in the dining room...it was a few degrees too warm for us.
We started with the steamed potstickers and they were good. My wife had the Chinese chicken salad and I had the explosion sandwich. Both were great.
Neat little place kinda tucked in the strip mall. -

Bluefish grill is a sit down restaurant with the similar atmosphere to a cheap chinese take out place. While the aura of the store is small and humble, the food is nothing of the like. The cod dinner was the perfect concoction of crunch, butter, and lemon crusting a fresh catch of cod. It was to die for. The poke bowl was beautifully presented and very fresh. Great portions and great ingredients. I would love to come back and try everything on the menu!!!!!!!! The restaurant is strong in range and quality regarding the food itself. Perfecting not only a fried fresh catch but a tuna poke bowl as well??? Incredible!!!!!!!!!

After doing a Sushi search in this area I found this placed. Based on Yelp reviews and Yelp images I decided to give it a try.... I'm glad I did. I was very happy with the results.
We tried and shared several dishes ranging from 4 different Ramens, Nigiri pieces, Sake, and Beers.
1) Their Ramen, all the types we ordered, were all good.
2) The Nigiri pieces we tried were overall good.
They were good size and fresh. One non positive thing: one of my Salmon Nigiri pieces had a bid of tendon or skin on it. Chef probably did not noticed it... my mouth did. At first it felt like a bone but turned out to just skin or tendon. I say tendon because of lack of a better word for it. In any case, it was not welcome; however, that minor incident did not damage our experiences that day. The Nigiri pieces were good and presented well. I even like the bit of wasabi under the fish they added to each piece.
3) The Sake was good. Tasted a bit like peaches. The beers were bottled or canned (Sapporo). Priced okay.
4) The waiter was friendly and attentive.
5) Some of our Nigiri pieces came out after we were eating our main course. That's was not good. We prefer our appetizers to arrive before our main course meal.
6) Some of the spoons we got were dirty or had visual food particles on them where they were not inspected after they were cleaned. They should do a better job at that.
Overall, it was great and we recommend you try it. We will be returning soon.
UPDATE ON REVIEW ABOVE:
Have keep in coming here over the past year or more. This place is still great and food is delicious. After having here so many times my only update to the above has to do with the following...
Place is small and has a very wide variety of choices on the menu (This is why we keep coming here whenever we can); however, this makes service slow if you have a large party (at least 5 or more) and all in your party order different types of foods. Have patience, the food is delicious. If you don't like waiting very long and have a large party I recommend you all order similar dishes so that they come out together.
Overall I would come back to this place in the future again and again; however, I would try to avoid coming with a big party because it takes forever for everyone to get their food. Most time each person will get their food before the others at your party and at times you may not get your food until most of the people at the table are done eating. Again, this will not stop me from returning to this awesome place it is just something I wanted to note to all so that you are aware. If coming with a big party be prepare to wait a while for your food specially if the place is already full of people. In any case, please come and try them out for yourself.
